MATRIX Eve 2009

MATRIX Institute of Information Technology (Pvt) Ltd. For the second successive year organized the MATRIX Eve 2009, this was even special and exiting since it was held at the Lavinia Breeze, Mt. Lavenia on a eve of 16th December 2009. The eve was further enlightened by a luxury dinner organized by the Mr. and Mrs. Pinto Jayawardena. Two great friends of the Chairman was a no surprise to all the staff and the eve went on. The awards ceremony began and the Chairman started to announce the employees who made the institution further shine in the year 2009.

Mr. Damith Pathirana won the most committed lecturer of the year 2009, while the Best Coordinator of the Year 2009 was won by Mrs. Roshani Peiris for the Second successive year.

Then came the moment everyone was waiting for the Employee of the year 2009. This time it was won by Miss. Dilki De Saram, who won the best supporter of the year in 2008.

The event folded with a pleasant lecture from our Viraj Sir and giving away two gifts of appreciation to two of his very best friends Mr. I. Sashikmar(Sashi) and the always entertaining Mr. Amindra De Silva (Nanayakkara)

MATRIX Cricket Carnival and Sports Day 2009

MATRIX Institute of Information Technology (Pvt) Ltd, with the initiation and support from it’s Student's Association organized a grand Cricket Carnival and a Sports Day on the 1st of December 2009, which attracted many past and present students of the institution. The Cricket Carnival was one of the main features of the day and out of 22 teams who took part for the event the students of one of the Sunday BIT batches emerged champs who beat the MATRIX staff team in a breath taking finals, which only ended in the last ball. The day was further enlightened when a few ladies teams took part in the event, which was won by the team, which comprises of a set of past and present BCS students who beat the MATRIX staff ladies team in the finals.

The day was also brightened by the fun games organized by the students and the staff, with many other interesting stalls. The students enjoyed a few minutes at the end with some music and dance. Several other institutes, caterers, Banks, and other organizations further supported the MATRIX students association via sponsorships for stalls, banners and souvenirs. At the end of the event the winners of the raffle draw was announced and they were invited to obtain their gifts from the students association. The winning numbers were 1888, 3642 and 768.

The chief guest for the event was Mr. Viraj Pinto Jayawardena Chairman/ Managing Director of MATRIX Institute of Information Technology (Pvt) Ltd, who gave away the winners shield to Sunday Mountain Rangers team and the winners medals to the ladies was given away by Mrs. Emesha Pinto Jayawardena the Director Operations and Finance at MATRIX.

BCS CIIT Higher Education Qualification – Full Time Batch

Mr. Shiran Cooray receiving the Free Brand New Mini note book from the Chairman of MATRIX , Mr. Viraj Pinto Jayawardena. Shiran was the first student to register for the full time batch which commenced in Jan. 2010. MATRIX commences a full time batch each month and the Last batch will commence in March 2010. every student registration will receive the Free mini note book.

MATRIX Hits BIT Year 01 record highest

MATRIX, made history when the institution recorded the highest ever number of BIT registrations. The total has now come close to 400. This is no doubt a record by any in one branch. Due to the quality of lecturing and proper guidance of the panel at MATRIX students has made a very high confidence with the institution.

The institution due to the very high demand for the BIT had to turn down first semester registrations and now only take Year 01 registrations since it has been very difficult to handle the very large number of inquires, which flow in everyday.

To avoid disappointment we kindly request you all to register at your earlist for the next semester. Currently registrations are on for Semester 02, Semester 04 and Semester 06.

MATRIX Party 2009

MATRIX, with the initiation of our Chairman arranged a small MATRIX Party with the staff and the student representatives from the student association. It was quite fun to enjoy a meal with our Teachers. It was even a surprise for many since it was the 23rd of December which was the 34th Birthday of our Viraj Sir.
